Choral conductor, TRAVIS KORNEGAY, has made an extensive and eclectic career in the world of music. His experiences span 25 years in church music, 8 years at the community college and university levels, and over 10 years teaching in public and charter schools. Prior to working on his doctorate at the University of Northern Colorado, Travis obtained his Master of Music degree from Kansas State University in Manhattan, KS and received a
Bachelor of Music degree from Methodist University in Fayetteville, NC. While at Methodist University, Travis won many community and university awards, including the Camille
Chaminade Award. He was the first recipient of the Cumberland County Oratorio Award. In addition to being a graduate student at the University of Northern Colorado, Travis is currently the music director and organist at First United Methodist Church in Greeley,
Colorado. His scholarly interest includes vocal and choral works Joel Thompson and history and development of Church Music in the United States.
A native of North Carolina, Travis is a tenor soloist, pianist/organist, and choral conductor. He has been a proud resident of Colorado for more than 20 years. He enjoys traveling, playing
poker with his friends, and going to the movies. Colorado is his home where he enjoys his family, friends, and the mountains.
