About the Event
John Rutter's Requiem is a musical setting of parts of the Latin requiem with added psalms and biblical verses in English. The work has long been a favorite of community choirs all over the world, including The Greeley Chorale. The second half of the concert features music specifically composed for the coronation of England’s kings and queens, including Handel’s energetic Zadok the Priest, sung prior to the anointing of the sovereign at the coronation of every British monarch since its composition in 1727. We’ll end with Andrew Lloyd Webber’s contribution to the most recent coronation.
