Mary Borg
Mary has been a member of the Greeley Chorale for more than 33 years. She is a history professor at the University of Northern Colorado. She and her late husband, Judge Andrew Borg, have 5 grown sons. Mary is a member of the First Congregational Church. She also volunteers and/or supports A Woman’s Place, Cranford Historical District, Weld County Democrats, and the Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra. Favorite Chorale moment—I asked Mary Haight to play the organ at my husband’s funeral service and to see if two or three Chorale members could sing two songs. When my sons and I and 6 sisters and their families walked into the church, we saw the entire Greeley Chorale filled the choir area. It was so amazing and they sang so beautifully—I am still deeply touched by the loving support shown to me on that cloudy day. Favorite quote—“I thank God for this amazing day; for the life-giving sprouts of trees and a blue true dream of sky; and for everything which is natural, which is infinite, which is yes”—EE Cumming. “Keep a green bough in your heart and a singing bird will come”—William Shakespeare.
